Sam Smith

Principal

Sam is a member of the leadership team in Clearview’s London office, bringing over 10 years of experience in life sciences strategy consulting and private equity. He is primarily an advisor to financial sponsors and corporate executive teams on commercial due diligence and value creation topics.

For the past 10 years Sam has worked broadly on commercial due diligence and growth strategy topics spanning life sciences subsectors for clients across the US, Europe, and APAC. Key areas of past work include innovative and generic therapeutics, outsourced services (CDMO, CRO, CSO), invitro diagnostics, medical devices, supply chain (API, packaging, distribution) and providers.

Prior to joining Clearview, Sam was a leader within Bain & Company’s private equity group and IQVIA’s financial institutions consulting practice where he led commercial due-diligence and strategy engagements for private equity and corporate clients. Earlier in his career he worked in corporate finance and private equity at H.I.G. Capital Partners.

Sam received a Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. When he is not working, he will likely be found walking the English countryside with his wife, dog and two children, BBQing at his home in Wimbledon or bowling dubious leg spin on the cricket pitch.
