Derek Risenberberg

Derek is a leader in Clearview’s Boston office and brings 20 years of experience in life sciences strategy consulting. His primary focus is serving private equity firms and other financial investors on commercial due diligence and value creation strategies for their portfolio companies. Over the last decade he has led over 150 commercial diligence engagements spanning outsourced services (CROs, CDMOs, lab services, commercialization services), life science tools and diagnostics (bioprocessing equipment and materials, research reagents, IHC and genomic instrumentation) and pharma IT solutions (eClinical, RWD/RWE, ELN/LIMS). He has also served pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic companies, and CROs on issues of corporate growth strategy and transformation.

Prior to joining ClearView, Derek was a partner in Bain & Company’s Healthcare Private Equity practice and a Partner at EY-Parthenon, where he co-led the Life Sciences strategy team across corporate and private equity clients. Earlier in his career, he was a leader at IQVIA (fka The Amundsen Group) and L.E.K. Consulting, and he was a research analyst in economic consulting and health economic consulting firms prior to graduate school.

Derek received a BA in Economics from Boston University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. In his personal time, he enjoys downhill skiing, mountain biking and spending time on the ocean with his wife and four children.
